Donations Needed for Hurricane Relief

With parts of Texas and Louisiana affected by flooding due to Hurricane Harvey, and more areas soon to be impacted by Hurricane Irma, Monumental is collecting donations for Flood Buckets. These Buckets will be used to help clean up efforts in hurricane affected areas.
Donate any of the items from the donation list below or a completed Flood Bucket. Click here for assembly instructions. Donations can be dropped off at Monumental UMC Mondays-Thursdays 9 am to 2 pm, Fridays 9 am to 12 pm, or Sunday mornings (Use the Queen Street entrance). Please drop off donations by September 20.
You can also make a monetary donation to help with these supplies. Checks can be written to "Monumental UMC" with "Flood Buckets" in the memo. You can mail the donation to:

Items Needed:
5-Gallon bucket with resealable lid: Buckets from fast-food restaurants or bakeries can be used if washed and cleaned; do not use buckets that stored chemicals such as paint or pool cleaner; advertisements on the outside are okay
Liquid laundry detergent: 50-oz or 25-oz. bottles only
Liquid household cleaner: 12-16 oz. liquid cleaner that can be mixed with water; no spray cleaners
Dish soap: 16-28 oz. bottle, any brand
Clothespins
Clothesline: 100-ft or 50-ft; cotton or plastic
Sponges: no cellulose sponges due to mold issues
24-roll heavy-duty trash bags: 33-45 gallon sizes
Cleaning wipes: hands-wipes or reusable wipes; no terry cleaning towels
Can air freshener: aerosol or pump
Insect-repellant spray: 6-14 oz. aerosol or spray pump with protective cover
Kitchen dishwashing gloves: durable enough for multiple uses
Work gloves: all cotton; all leather; cotton with leather palm
Scouring pads: no stainless steel, Brillo pads or SOS pads (nothing with soap built in)
Scrub brush: plastic or wood handle
